Facts about RAZE:
- RAZE is not anti-smokers or anti-chewers, we are anti-Big Tobacco
- The reason we are against Big Tobacco is that they put out so many lies. Ex: Smokeless tobacco is a safe alternative to smoking. That is not true. Snuff, Chew, and Dip are just as harmful as cigarettes.
- RAZE's goal is to reduce tobacco use among teens.
- Big Tobacco spends $10 million a year marketing their goods and WV is a BIG portion of that. Most of that money is directed toward teens.
- Secondhand smoke kills more than 65,000 people annually
Is RAZE Working?
- These stats were taken between 2000 and 2005;
- 14.8% decline in high school students that say they have tried cigarettes.
- 27.8% decline in high school students who currently smoke cigarettes.
- 17.4% decline in high school boys who have tried smokeless tobacco.
